Skin Firming Products
Skin Firming Products are absolutely amazing! You can find them in any department store, pharmacy, high street store and supermarkets. There are thousands upon thousands on the market and women spend a fortune on the latest new ‘miracle in a pot’. After researchers have found that there really is not a great deal of difference in each one even though some range from as little as one pound all the way up to hundreds of pounds. Even though this research has come to light women will always be vain enough to want the latest product to see if they work.
The marketing of these products are what manufacturers rely on to push their Skin Firming Products. Advertising on television commercials and radio adverts as well as magazines and posters throughout the world. Our worldwide need to look young is also extending to men as well as women as everybody now wants to reverse the hands of time without having to undergo extensive and abrasive procedures under the knife. Not everyone can afford surgery and botox so most women spend their lives swapping and changing and searching for the perfect Skin Firming Products. These companies are very clever in the sense that they package everything in a beautiful way to catch people’s eyes and to make you buy their products. My Mother is a victim of this clever marketing and unfortunately to our cost. Every birthday and every Christmas there is yet another new cream for us to buy on her wish list! Whether it be Estee Lauder or Clinique, Loreal, Elizabeth Arden, Mac, Maybeline, or the latest concoction from the Avon catalogue. Needless to say with each product not having managed to provide any form of anti-wrinkle or skin firming qualities my Mother will still continue in her endless search to find the cream that works for her.
Personally I feel that it’s the skin you were born with and whether you have good genes or not. Some people are prone to acne or oily skin and some are prone to dry and flaky skin. It really does depend on your family and what your hormones are doing at the time. As a teenager I always followed in my Mother’s and Grandmother’s beauty routine and I myself have fallen into the trap of extremely clever marketing... I now live in Bali in Indonesia and find that although my skin has been absolutely wonderful for years that I have now developed spot prone skin due to Bali’s climate and very dirty air. I think that the best thing to do is drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and eat a healthy diet. There are no miracle skin firming products on the market yet it is always good to use a low cost cleansing routine to remove all the dirt from your pores each day and start with a good cleanser, then a toner, then a moisturiser as well as your skin firming products.
I always buy mine from a pharmacy where you can ask how they have been tested, especially as testing on animals is so commonly frowned upon. I like to buy my products based on friend’s recommendations but I also buy a relatively cheap brand. I think it’s nice for women to buy as a nice pampering item and even though deep down we know it won’t work it still helps us to feel good about ourselves.
You can also go to a salon or spa to really pamper yourself. A friend and I recently went to a spa for a two day getaway and we absolutely loved the serene atmosphere and the feeling of complete relaxation. As we arrived we were handed a lovely freshly squeezed fruit drink and were handed our robes and slippers. We then took a swim in their pool followed by a full deep heat massage. Then we were given an exfoliation treatment and covered in a type of body mask which was the consistency of melted chocolate....It was beautiful. My friend Astrid and I then went on to have a facial which consisted of cleansing, tone and moisturise followed by a face mask and lastly the skin firming products were applied. I think they tend to do this last as it provides the skin with a taught sensation for about three hours. I must admit that in this time I did feel as if I had undergone a mini face lift. My friend Astrid was rather impressed too. But of course after just a few hours the skin elasticity begins to once again loosen and you are back to smoother yet unfortunately your normal day to day skin once more.
Overall I would say that it really doesn’t do our skin any harm to use Skin Firming Products but if you are wanting to spend hundreds of pounds then I feel that the money would be better spent elsewhere.
